| Deep Drop Tackle uses only 100% pure Spectra braided line on all electric reels. Why? It’s the best. Period. Spectra line has absolutely revolutionized deepwater fishing. In that past, anglers had to rely on dacron or wire to reach the depths. Dacron has a large diameter, absorbs water and it rots. Wire is very difficult to work with, tears up even roller guides, it corrodes reels and it kinks. Braided spectra does non of the above! Spectra is simply the ultimate. It is so sensitive you can watch your weight bouncing along the bottom in over 1000’ of water! When we spool your reel with Spectra, we tie on a loop at the end locked down with special glue so it is impossible to break the knot or for the knot to slip under even the most extreme pressure. All you have to do after installing the reel on the rod and running the line through the guides is to add a ball bearing snap swivel to the end using a cat’s paw (also known as an offshore knot). Line Applications: This is a guide for those not sure what line you need for your electric reel. Backing is included in price. Spinning and 320GT2: 450 feet of 30# green Spectra and appropriate backing. All other reels up to 4/0 size: 900 feet of 65# or 80# Spectra and appropriate backing. Penn 113’s, Penn 114’s, Penn 340GTI and 345GTI, Kristal 601 and 605: 1500 feet of 80# or 100# Spectra and appropriate backing. Penn 115L and 116L, Kristal 621 and 611: 2000 feet of 100#, 130# or 150# Spectra and appropriate backing. Penn 117L, 80TW, 130ST and Kristal 651 and 655: 3000 feet of 130#, 150#, 200# or 250# Spectra and appropriate backing. I would recommend staying away from 200# and 250# unless you are fishing for extreme size fish. All prices include backing for your reel and line spooling. |
