ROD HOLDER MOUNT
Jim, the owner of Deep Drop Tackle was proud to be a pioneer of the short bent butt deep drop rods back in the early 1990's. For most all deep water applications, short bent butt rods are the ultimate weapon. The bent butt allows the rod to angle perfectly over the side of the boat from transom or gunnel rod holders. When the fish come to the surface, the short length has the fish right along side the boat and in easy reach to lift into the boat or gaff if needed. At 4'6" total length, they hang over the side of the boat or transom approx. 2-3 feet depending on rod holder positioning. Once you have fished a short bent butt, you will wonder how you ever fished without one! Deep Drop Tackle also offers quality factory built longer rod holder mounted rods.

The Custom Unlimited is suited for only the strongest reels... the Kristal XL-651 and XL-655 or the Elec-Tra-Mate Pro-II series. We recommend 150# to 250# spectra line for use on these rods and the amount of weight you can fish is virtually unlimited. These rods are for the largest of fish in the deepest of water.
